MEET OUR INCREDIBLE TRAINERS

Regan Hams
Co-Owner & Lead Coach
Regan has 12 years of experience as a CrossFit Coach and over 18 years in the health and fitness industry. He is also a current Australian Weightlifting Federation team coach and holds a degree in Exercise Science.
About Regan
Has been CrossFitting for twelve years! He’s passionate about changing people’s lives through CrossFit. “I love seeing the transformation people experience—specifically, the confidence and self-belief they gain from getting fitter, losing weight, and getting stronger,” he says. “I love witnessing the joy they have when they improve, nail a new skill or movement, and discover their true, inner strength.”
Regan moved to Brisbane in 2012 to study at University. While looking for a part-time job, he noticed that a gym across the road from his house was advertising a job for a fitness trainer. “I already had a background in coaching and training, so I applied. I ended up getting the job, and it just happened to be a gym that was converting from regular group training into a CrossFit affiliate.” What started as a part-time job to pay the bills while studying, became an absolute passion and he hasn’t looked back since.
Regan has also coached athletes to the Oceania Games, World Championships, and Commonwealth Games, four athletes to national records, and has Coached on the Australian Weightlifting Team

Ryven Ewing
Assistant Coach
“The Professor”. Despite his youth, Ryven has a deep understanding of Human Movement and takes pride in developing his coaching eye and understanding how to give tangible cues and corrections to our members. Ryven is an avid Olympic Weightlifter and doesn’t mind shredding a few waves in his free time.
About Ryven
Ryven started training at Bounce in 2020 as a youthful 18-year-old. For the past few years, Ryven has dedicated himself to the sport of Olympic Weightlifting and has had some great success including placing 2nd in the 89kg division at the 2022 Australian Senior Championships (as a Junior!). He also is the current QLD Clean & Jerk Record Holder with a whopping 167kg lift and also hold the total record of 302 at a body weight of 89kg!
Ryven Says “Training is the cornerstone of routine in my day and week, I really enjoy the combination of developing a tough mindset while progressing in my strength, technical aspects of lifting, and my general physical fitness.”
“I enjoy seeing the effects of consistency in training as well as applying learnings from my degree, other qualifications, coaches, and experts around me into my own lifting. It also gives me a better reason to eat lots of food.”
With attitudes and beliefs like this as a 20-year-old, it was a no-brainer to add Ryven to the Bounce Coaching team when the opportunity arose.
Ryven finds assisting people to achieve improvements in their movement quality, performance, and self-confidence all very rewarding. He enjoys directing information learned through his own experiences into one that is tailored towards individuals in the classes, irrespective of their experience level.
When Ryven’s not at the gym coaching or training he enjoys going for a surf, taking his dogs for a walk, and enjoying his favorite Comedies “The Office” or anything with Ricky Gervais in it.
Following the completion of his Exercise Science degree, Ryven plans on studying Physiotherapy and also has the goal of Competing at the Commonwealth Games in Weightlifting.
